About Rent Ratchet
Rent Ratchet is a place for neighbors to lend each other tools: the tile saw in one garage, the pressure washer in another, the post-hole digger nobody needs more than one weekend a year.
How it works
- An owner lists a tool with photos, the general area it lives in and a price. The exact pickup spot is shown only to a renter whose request the owner accepted.
- A renter asks for dates. The owner says yes or no. The two of them meet, hand the tool over with a photo of its condition, and hand it back the same way.
- When it is over, each side rates the other. Ratings stay sealed until both have rated or 14 days have passed.
The prices are not money
Prices are in virtual beer, cattle, pigs and similar units. They have no cash value: they cannot be bought, sold, paid out or swapped for anything real. They pile up on your trophy shelf and that is all they do. Rent Ratchet takes no payment for a rental and pays nobody.
What we are not
Rent Ratchet is not a party to any rental. We do not own, inspect, insure, deliver or vouch for the tools, and we do not settle disagreements between neighbors. Either side can flag a rental, which puts it on hold and lets staff read what was written, but nobody here decides who is right. You use every tool at your own risk; the Terms and the Disclaimer say so in full.
